Lead for ESG Ratings, Reporting and Communication at Helvetia Baloise Group. Previously Responsible Investment Manager at Baloise Asset Management and Portfolio Manager and ESG Analyst at EUROFIMA. PhD from ETH Zurich; teaches Sustainable Supply Chain Management at FFHS.
Dr. Ivana Mateska is Lead for ESG Ratings, Reporting and Communication at Helvetia Baloise Group. Previously she worked as a Responsible Investment Manager at Baloise Asset Management, now part of the Helvetia Baloise Group. She joined Baloise in 2023. Before that, she was Portfolio Manager and ESG Analyst at EUROFIMA in Basel.
She earned her PhD at the Chair of Logistics Management in ETH Zurich’s Department of Management, Technology and Economics, supported by a Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship. She then stayed on as a post-doctoral researcher, studying sustainability risks in global supply chains and buyer–supplier relationships. Her research won the Best Theory-driven Empirical Research Paper award at the Decision Sciences Institute Annual Conference in 2020. Earlier, it was a finalist for the Best Student Paper Award at the Academy of Management Annual Conference in 2018. She remains active in academia and is currently teaching Sustainable Supply Chain Management at FFHS.
Earlier in her career, she spent almost three years in the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, working on innovation, technology and research policy. She holds a double bachelor’s degree in International Logistics Management and Engineering from Jacobs University Bremen and a Master’s in Technology Policy from the University of Cambridge.
